Aristóteles Goes Neto
Aristóteles Góes-Neto is B.Sc. in Biology, Federal University of Bahia (UFBA), Brazil (1994), Ph.D. in Botany, Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul (UFRGS), Brazil (2001) and PostDoc in FIOCRUZ, Brazil (2012). Currently, he is Adjunct Professor in the Dept. of Microbiology of the Institute of Biological Sciences, Federal University of Minas Gerais (UFMG), Brazil, vice-coordinator of Postgraduate Program of Bioinformatics (UFMG), Coordinator of the Center of North-American Studies (UFMG, and leader of Research Group (CNPq): Molecular and Computational Biology of Fungi. He was full professor of the Dept. of Biology, State University of Feira de Santana (UEFS), Brazil (1995-2016), coordinator of Research Laboratory in Microbiology (LAPEM) (2002-2016), and coordinator of the Postgraduate Program in Biotechnology (M.Sc. and Ph.D. levels) at the same University (2006-2011). He is permanent professor of the Postgraduate Programs of Microbiology (UFMG) and Bioinformatics (UFMG) and collaborator professor of the Postgraduate Programs of Botany (since 2003) and Biotechnology (since 2005) of UEFS. He is CNPq Researcher (level 2) and his research lines include Fungal Biology, Biotechnology and (Meta)omics. He has published 117 peer-reviewed articles, 13 book chapters, 1 book, and deposited 7 patents. He has supervised 9 PostDocs, 10 Ph.D and 21 M.Sc students (Botany and Biotechnology Graduate Programs). He has been Principal Investigator (PI) of 13 research or technological development projects and networks financed by Brazilian Scientific agencies (CNPq, CAPES, FAPESB), international scientific agencies (NSF - USA), and private enterprises (Michelin), and he is currently PI of 1 scientific project financed by PETROBRAS.
