A SIG is a community within a larger organization with a shared interest in progressing knowledge on a specific area.
The AB3C is encouraging the creation of new SIGs in order to enhance the integration of bioinformatics researchers and enthusiasts from all over the world. You may suggest any topic for a SIG, but, you must follow these simple rules:
- The person responsible for the SIG proposal must be an active AB3C member, and, upon submission must indicate two people for helping the SIG maintenance;
- The central line of a SIG must be related to Bioinformatics, BioIT (Information Technology applied to Biological data), teaching technologies or be guided by one or more AB3C thematic areas (Omics, Structural Bioinformatics, Systems Biology and Modeling, Database and Software Development, Phylogeny and Evolution, Education)
- All proposed SIGs must have a name that undoubtedly indicate the group objectives;
- The SIG can have a logo and a Mascot;
- All SIGs are open, it is not allowed to reject someone to participate;
- The time slot for each SIG is up to 4 hours;
- Be creative!
Submission guidelines:
- A file with the SIG responsible names and contacts.
- The SIG name. Logo and Mascot are optional;
- A 450-word statement highlighting the relevance and objectives;
- A brief list of topics to be discussed on the X-meeting XP 2021 SIGs event, and how those should be presented - Round table, open discussion, formal presentation, Google meet room.
